My goal as an artist is to tell stories often ignored by today’s sophisticated world.

Word of mouth was the traditional means of storytelling. The method I use is as old as storytelling itself – quilting. Modern quilts have become an art form in which paint and brush give way to fabric and thread. My challenge is to use these simple materials to portray special moments of everyday life.

Quilts suggest comfort, warmth, peace, and simplicity. My hope is that the stories of innocence and wonder told in quilted form will serve as a reminder of what is truly important.
